Research-based one-on-one reading tutoring
If you or your child needs help in reading, spelling, or writing, you've come to the right place! With over 15 years of experience in teaching and tutoring, we will identify your child's literacy strengths and areas of need to create fun, effective, and engaging lessons. We will continually monitor progress and provide an individualized program that will have your child reading and writing with confidence.
Dyslexia Therapy
by a Certified Academic Language Therapist (Trainee Affiliate)
If you or your child has been diagnosed with Dyslexia, The Booklight Literacy Center can help! Work with our CALT (Certified Academic Language Therapist) Trainee Affiliate to meet the individual needs of the student with dyslexia. We use Take Flight: A Comprehensive Curriculum for Students with Dyslexia (Take Flight). The curriculum was designed for use by dyslexia therapists with children 7 years and older who have developmental dyslexia. The purpose is to enable students with dyslexia to achieve and maintain better word recognition, reading fluency, reading comprehension and aid in the transition from a therapy setting to ‘real world’ learning.
Expert literacy coaching and consulting for schools and parents
With over 15 years of teaching experience and 2 years of literacy coaching experience, The Booklight Literacy Center can help you transform your literacy instruction through individualized coaching and professional development for administrators, teachers, and staff. Coaching will be centered around implementing best practices and research-based instructional methods. Consulting is also available for homeschooling parents.
